Hi there, I'm Steph! I am an openly trans artist, (singer/songwriter/producer), originally from Virginia Beach, now living in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. My music has become a way to explore, sift, challenge and understand the growing shape of the world I belong to. I aim to learn about, expand upon and express the person I have become through my writing and performances. Currently I am working at Phoenix's Studio Valor on collaborations with friends and other artists as well as finishing my own full-length album. It's a positive spin on dealing with the ups and downs we go through and keeping a positive outlook even when trauma can make it difficult to want to be good to one another.
I first picked up a guitar at 15 years old, but music was already shaping my future. My first single, “Becoming Me” (released 2011 as Jay Skot), hinted of a search for answers to truths hidden beneath the surface. In the years since, I have embarked on a deeply personal journey to understand myself, and my music has become an engine for discovery, revelation, and a continuing quest for truth & self acceptance.
